How we handle your bills and details

Who we are
Joulio is operated by Fourth State Limited, a company registered in Kenya and based in Nairobi. We help businesses understand what solar is worth to them and connect them with vetted installers.
What we collect
- Your name, business name, phone number, email, and town or county
- The electricity bills, diesel receipts and other documents you send us
- Your answers about your business, any existing solar, and interest in financing
Why we use it
- To read your bills and prepare your solar report
- To contact you about your report and quotes
- With your permission, to share your bills and contact details with up to three installers, or with a bank you choose
- To publish market statistics in which no business can be identified
We do not sell your details, and we do not share them with installers or banks without your permission.
Where it is stored
Files you upload through our form are stored by Tally, a form service based in Belgium that keeps data on servers in Europe. Bills you send on WhatsApp are received on our WhatsApp Business account. We may use software tools, including AI tools, to help read bills; where these process data outside Kenya, we use them only for preparing your report.
How long we keep it
We keep your documents for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
